The figures below transcribe Justin's experience with the referenced forced-induction builds. They are warning points, not guaranteed targets or universal engine ratings.
A turbo can build strong torque at low engine speed. Brake boosting or requesting full boost early increases connecting-rod load.
VT boost rises with engine speed, so it cannot produce the same full-boost, low-rpm event as the turbo example.
The lower observed rod threshold becomes the practical warning point for a stock-bottom-end combination.
Justin's supplied guidance treats the fourth-generation rods and pistons as less tolerant than the third-generation parts.
Justin has observed stock rods fail from torque even when the log appeared normal. Power level, boost pressure, boost onset and the shape of the torque curve must be considered together. Anything beyond these observed ranges requires a direct discussion about engine hardware and risk.
Final values depend on the ECU, engine, fuel, hardware and log data. Nothing is raised simply because it can be.
