03 Mechanical baseline 技術資料

Maintenance

Reliability comes before performance. Establish a documented baseline before asking the car to do more.

Baseline / 00

A tune cannot repair a mechanical fault.

Worn plugs, old fluids, weak fuel delivery, vacuum leaks and poor tires must be addressed before calibration or hard use.

01
Before every tune

Health baseline

Scan fault codes, check fluids, inspect plugs, verify fuel quality and repair every known fault first.

02
Every oil service

Engine & driveline

Use the factory specification. Inspect for leaks and record mileage, oil used and consumption.

03
Before hard use

Brakes & tires

Measure pad life, check fluid age, torque wheels cold and set pressures for the intended use.

04
After modifications

Installation review

Re-torque accessible hardware, inspect contact points and review logs after the first heat cycles.

Justin's recommendation / Engine oil

Oil viscosity by setup

Choose the grade around the engine's airflow and thermal load, then confirm the specification required for your climate and market.

Naturally aspirated

0W-20 or 0W-30

Justin's baseline recommendation for an NA Skyactiv-G.

Supercharged

0W-30 or 5W-30

Use the heavier range recommended for the added supercharger load.

Aftermarket turbo

5W-30 or 5W-40

Justin's recommendation for a turbocharged build.

VT / HKS supercharger

Service reference

A concise version of the service guidance supplied with the VT kit. Always give the current manufacturer manual priority.

Engine oil & filterEvery 5,000 km

Inspect for leaks and monitor oil level and consumption.

HKS supercharger oil2 years or 60,000 km

Whichever comes first.

VT gear oil100,000 km standard

With a smaller pulley, service at about 75,000 km or sooner. Justin's conservative reference is 50,000 miles or less. A T-30 Torx bit is used for the service plug.

60,000 km inspectionBelt, plugs & filters

Inspect or replace the supercharger belt, spark plugs and fuel-filter element as specified; check the refrigerant system.

Intake filterInspect regularly

Shorten the interval in dusty or sandy conditions and use appropriate sand protection.

Fuel & plugs95 RON minimum

Use the spark-plug heat range specified for the kit; the supplied guidance mentions one heat range colder than stock where required.

These intervals transcribe Justin's supplied references and do not replace Mazda, VT or HKS documentation. Confirm fluid type, plug specification and interval for the exact kit revision.
